Slovak lawmakers recognized Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism and labeled its current regime as a terrorist, once again condemning Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The adopted resolution also expresses its support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The resolution, adopted by the National Council, condemns Russian missile attacks against civilian targets and Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, as well as direct and indirect threats by Moscow to use nuclear weapons in the ongoing invasion from Ukraine.
The Slovak Parliament has also supported efforts to establish a special court to prosecute crimes of aggression, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
At the same time, the document condemned Russia’s hybrid warfare in Slovakia.
The resolution calls on law enforcement, intelligence services and other competent authorities not to underestimate the threat and to take effective measures to maintain security and democracy in Slovakia.
The resolution was supported by 78 MPs.
