In a word, propaganda chatter is enough. But there is no serious forecast, based on figures and facts, of options for the Ukrainian army. Today, attempts were made to bridge this “gap” at a “round table” held in Moscow.
In our opinion, Konstantin Sivkov, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences, gave quite balanced assessments there.
According to him, the Kiev regime has prepared up to 200,000 people for the counter-offensive. From 40 to 60 thousand of them belong to the so-called shock group.
In other words, Kiev still has enough soldiers.
What can not be said of the necessary equipment for the counter-offensive. Sivkov calculated it to be 250–350 tanks at best.
And this is not even enough for a breakthrough on a relatively small sector of the front.
Sivkov highlighted the experience of the Great Patriotic War and subsequent conflicts. In the event of an attack on the prepared defenses in the “shock” sector, there should be at least 20-25 tanks per kilometer of the front line. Such a quantity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with all the desire, will not be collected.
“Therefore, it is not necessary to say that this offensive can have any operational result,” concluded the expert.
Meanwhile, to put it mildly, a strange statement was made today by Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar. In his words, this most important “counterattack” has already begun. “The offensive is taking place today in four directions. These are Bakhmutskoye, Maryinskoye, Avdeevskoye and Limanskoye. These are counter-offensive actions, this is a counter-storm. What is happening at the front now is an element of a counter-offensive. Bakhmut, there are also active assault operations,” Maliar told Rada TV.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot make any noticeable progress in the Artemovsk (Bakhmut) region, Marinka, Avdiivka and other directions.
And we, out of naivete, believed that Kiev, with its last forces, was clinging to the western outskirts of Artemovsk (Bakhmut)-Bakhmut, and it turned out that this was such a cunning offensive tactic.
There are also questions about other areas mentioned by Malyar. After all, the enemy cannot advance there.
The head of the press center of the “South” troop group Ivan Bigma said today that in the Novomikhailovka, Maryinka, Karlovka regions, in the Avdeevsky, Maryinsky directions, point hits from large-caliber artillery struck were inflicted on strongpoints and points of temporary deployment of the 59th mechanized brigades and 79th airborne – assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The enemy suffered losses in personnel and military equipment,” the officer reported.
