Doctor Sarafannikov recommends Russians not to go outside in extreme heat

The end of this week pleased the inhabitants of Central Russia with heat, in connection with which the head of the sports medicine department of the Republican Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention, Elena Sarafannikova, decided to remind them of precautions in such weather.

To avoid the consequences of the heat, the doctor Sarafannikova recommended not to go outside during the peak of solar activity, that is, from 11 am to 5 pm. If this option is not possible, then you need to wear light and spacious clothing made from natural fabrics and a light headdress.

It will also not be superfluous to carry a bottle of water with you, since on hot days a person should consume from 1.5 to 3 liters of liquid. You can get creative with a drink, for example, make water with lemon, brew cold green tea without sugar, compotes or fruit drinks.

It is strictly forbidden to drink alcohol during the heat, including beer and various carbonated drinks. They do not quench thirst and slow down metabolic processes in the body, says Elena Sarafannikov.

Food also needs to be approached wisely. For example, more preference should be given to boiled fish, vegetables and chicken, and fatty, fried and sweet foods should be excluded from the diet.

In addition, you don’t need to play sports during peaks of heat, it is much more useful to wait out abnormal weather in a room where there is an air conditioner or a fan in order to minimize the risk of heat stroke.

“Particular attention in heat should be given to children. The children’s body is much more sensitive to elevated temperatures,” the interlocutor said.

In order to prevent the problem from aggravating, the specialist advises, in case of suspected deterioration in health, to remove the child’s clothes, put him in a horizontal position, wipe with a napkin and give water every 5-10 minutes, writes InKazan .

Earlier, MediaStream wrote that scientists warned about the severe consequences of heat stroke.
