The conclusion of the ninth edition of the program “Save them from fear”

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, concluded the ninth edition of the Ramadan talk show “And secure them from fear”which it organized over a period of three days, during which it was hosted a group of scholars and thinkers from the Islamic world.

And discussed the third and final session of the program, which was entitled “The Arabic language… Reasons for reluctance, means of renewal, and their impact on values and originality” The importance of the Arabic language and its connection to the identity of the Muslim person, as it is the language of the Holy Qur’an, stressing the need to preserve it, consolidate its use, and correct its teaching methods with a motivational vision.

In this context, Dr. Mutlaq Al-Jasser, Professor of Jurisprudence at the College of Sharia at Kuwait University, said: “God Almighty has chosen the Arabic language and made it the language of the Noble Qur’an, as God has made this language of advantages and virtues that half of which are not found in other languages.” stressing that the Arabic language is closely related to the identity of the Muslim person.

He pointed out during his intervention in the session that many orientalists have shown the impact of Islam on Europe in the Middle Ages, and how the Arabic language affected European youth in that era, so that one of them became proud if he was able to speak in Arabic, while the world has changed today and its conditions have changed, And young Muslims are trying to find for themselves some level of elevation, if they speak in foreign languages, without any need to mention.

Al-Jasser pointed out that this phenomenon is linked to the spread of intellectual suspicions among Muslims, given that language is the main component of a person’s identity, culture and belief. If this is lost, it becomes easy for him to absorb the ideas and culture of others.

During his intervention in the session, he stressed the necessity of rooting the Arabic language and preserving it by all available means, in a way that reflects positively on the fall of many suspicions raised about the Islamic religion.

For his part, dr. Al-Bashir Issam Al-Marrakchi, Director of the Irshad Center for Studies and Training in Morocco, stressed the importance of concerted efforts of all Muslims and Arabs in order to restore the Arabic language to its former position, noting that “The main reason behind the weakness of the Arabic language lies in the fact that we are intellectually, economically, philosophically and technically defeated in all aspects of life.”.

He said during his intervention in the session: “If we want to reform the affairs of the Arabic language, we must reform the affairs of the nation first, and return to it something, even a small part, of its renaissance, civilization, and status, and what advances in its language.”.

Al-Bashir pointed out that the return of Arabic to its origins and roots is through two axes, the first of which is fixing the use of the language, and the second is correcting the learning approach, indicating that the Arabic language, like other languages , lives by use and dies by abandonment, stressing that the Arabic language will not die because it is the language of the Holy Qur’an, and it will remain preserved by memory. And it will remain with the survival of the Book of God Almighty.

And he stressed the need to teach science in the Arabic language, especially since in many Arab countries the Arabic language was excluded in the teaching of science, warning against the use of the colloquial Arabic language that is widespread in our Arab countries because its use distorts the Arabic language, calling for correcting the approach to receiving the Arabic language, and studying the sciences of Arabic. systematically.

In a related context, Dr. Muhammad Al-Amin Ismail, Director of the Islamic Center at the International University of Africa in Sudan, said: “The Arabic language and its speech is a blessing from God Almighty, just as God’s choice of it for the concluding message means that it is the language that is suitable for all the world, as it accepts the translation of meanings in it and accommodates all languages.”Indicating that the Arabic language has great advantages, and it is enough that God Almighty described the Holy Qur’an as Arabic, as He said in 7 places: “And an Arabic Quran” And “With an Arabic tongue” And “Arabic tongue” in two places, and “an Arab ruling” In one place of the Holy Quran.

added “The most important thing that distinguishes the Arabic language is its holiness, as it is a sacred language for every Muslim, male and female, whether he speaks Arabic or not, because he sanctifies the Noble Qur’an, and sanctifies the hadiths of the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – and sanctifies the dhikr with which God Almighty is mentioned, and this holiness is impossible to remove.” He pointed out that the most prominent features of the other Arabic language lie in its antiquity, as it was stated in the interpretations that it is the language in which Adam, peace be upon him, descended.

Ismail explained during his intervention in the session that the various languages had a period and then disappeared, but the Arabic language was distinguished by its stability, pointing to the use of many languages for Arabic terms, especially in light of the large number of synonyms in the Arabic language. He pointed to the ease of the Arabic language with its greatness, and the evidence for that is that those who established the rules of the Arabic language were not Arabs, from Sibawayh to Zamakhshari, and others. Ismail pointed out that the Arabic language today faces many challenges related to its teaching methods, represented in the failure of these methods to keep pace with the various modern developments, as well as teaching other languages to the student at the expense of his own language that he may not find a direct application to, and the call to spread local colloquial dialects.

For his part, dr. Noor Al-Din Al-Khademi, Head of the Islamic Research and Studies Unit at the College of Sharia at Qatar University, emphasized that the Arabic language is renewed because it is part of the religion, and religion is also renewed as stated in the words of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “God sends at the head of every hundred years someone who renews this nation’s command of its religion”Pointing out that today we are facing an Arabic linguistic scene in a global space, and Ramadan is the month of the Arabic language in terms of the Holy Qur’an.

He said during his intervention at the session: “The Arabic language is a present, active and open language at the diplomatic and international level, as well as at the level of translation, science, media and social networking sites.” Pointing out that the colloquial dialect embraces a kind of Arabic linguistic material with some deviations.

And Al-Khademi indicated that it is necessary to talk about the issues of the Arabic language with a motivational vision, as it possesses strategic elements that make it immortal because it is the language of the Noble Qur’an preserved until the Day of Judgment, in addition to the Sunnah of the Prophet that shows the Qur’an and interprets various Quranic and religious sciences in Arabic.
